a little project

I found this project 365 day project by Kristy Hall. I love this idea! I know I always love finding things or seeing signs(here and here). I even just like finding a smiley drawn with marker on a bench(makes you smile, yah know?). I think it would be fun to do something like this. Although, I'm still working on this 365 day project (I'm not doing so good on it). But, I already have an idea!

I didn't run away. Well, I guess I kind of did. I think it's time to stop that. So, hello!

Lately, I've been feeling a little tired. A little bit lost. A lot a bit disappointed. A little bit hurt. A little bit irresponsible. I need to work on that.

I did make a new little header! How about that! I had other ideas in my head (my ideas in my head are always so much better than what comes out). I need to work on that, too. But. I think I'm okay with it. For now.

Hello! I'm Angella! The gal behind Lavender and Honey. I'm happy you stopped by! Can you tell I'm excited to meet you? Well, I hope you can. I am living in the Midwest, on the lovely South Side in Chicago, Illinois. I am a smile-scatterer, a huge fan of cuddling, adores vintage, the thought of traveling, red lips, flowers (billy buttons), and making people laugh (smile-scatterer, I tell yah..).

I created this blog in 2008 in hopes of inspiring someone (you!) and meeting more people like me. Fast forward to 2011 and here we are! This year I hope to open my own little Etsy store. AND finish this list before I turn 23 in December. OH MAN. : )!

So, this blog is a little bit of me (okay, a lot a bit), a little bit of hoping, a little bit of dreaming, a little store? (maybe), a little bit.. of everything..

the heart wants..

I've been thinking a lot about fashion and “style” and realized I'm not someone who has it all figured out—at all. I know what I like but when it comes to styling.. I kind of just throw things together and on occasion I get lucky. In 2011 I would like to sharpen things up a bit and take things up a notch. While showering (where most of my silly ideas form) I thought why not create a little 'the heart wants what the heart wants' post and that being said..

I want to create mood boards weekly—on pieces I would love to have in my wardrobe. I want to stop the impulse buying and start buying things I really love. I want to stop the careless spending and start saving! And I can't really spend money like I did a few weeks ago anyway. So, I probably won't end up buying any of this.. but it's kinda fun to dream a little bit, don't you think? And I'm working on my photo shop skills—boom. I am working on my list a bunch : )

morning routine

breakfast- two eggs with onions and peppers (orange). spiced up really nice with black pepper and celery salt. some hummus and peppers on the side as well. hot water and lemon to sip on.

I hope your morning was a peaceful one.

I have always wanted to do an inventory of my closet and I'm just now getting around to it! Inspired by Selective Potential-- one of my favorite bloggers from Michigan!

39 pairs of shoes (slippers and all, okay!) 37 dresses! (some too big, some too fancy, and some too small)- 42 skirts- 7 pairs of shorts- 6 pairs of pants- 19 cardigans- 34 sweaters (including 1 tennis hoodie)- 52 tops- 16 coats/jackets/blazers- 29 pairs of tights

and I'm going to save the scarves- jewelery- purses- hats- and other items for another post.

My cousin once said I have more tights than Peter Pan (that comment actually made me smile). I'm really excited to start wearing my wardrobe again! For that past two years I have been in uniform (for school and work). The other day I was going to get dressed and I then laughed.. I forgot how nice it is... to think. To decide. To feel good about what you're wearing. Kinda wonderful, if I do say so myself.

Spent a little less time on facebook

Learned how to play chess! (although I've lost every game—so far!)

I've been drinking a little more water than usual

Spent more time with friends!

And made a few new ones!

I figured out how to post links! (coding goal) baby steps.. I know.

BUT..

I cant seem to get a good photo without hazel bugging in!

Patience.. is depleting

And my book list keeps growing. Oh dear!

I have a lot to do.
